Donna Norman CAT - Business Services Manager
I joined Clouders in 1999 after working at the Inland Revenue (later to become HMRC) in their PAYE department. Over the years, I have progressed through all areas of accounting, undertaking company and personal accounts, bookkeeping, VAT returns and CIS refunds. I even helped out in payroll during the pandemic. I hold the CAT qualification (Certified Accounting Technician) but have built on that with my 25 years of practice experience.
One of my main roles at Clouders is facilitating clients in their own bookkeeping through training and regular support on various software packages such as Quickbooks, Sage and Xero. I like to keep up to date with new software solutions and as such can advise on what to add to your app stack to automate and streamline your bookkeeping processes. I have actually implemented several of these solutions into Clouders’ own systems in the last couple of years. I also manage the team who prepare and file VAT returns that we prepare for clients in-house and provide management accounts and advice from these quarterly figures if required.
Under the new management, I will be managing a portfolio of my own clients and I hope to build on the good client relationships I have already made. I pride myself on giving a personal, professional service through my approachable and down to earth manner. If I don’t know the answer to your query, I will strive to find it for you.
Outside of work, I’ve been married for over 20 years and have two children who were both born deaf, as a result of this I have learned BSL to Level 3. I find that these skills help me to communicate effectively with a range of different clients. We enjoy spending time together as a family playing board games, doing jigsaw puzzles and watching films.
