Donna of Clouders has passed her Module 101 of British Sign Language
Donna Norman has passed module 101 of her BSL Level 1 exam (with fullmarks) and she is sitting further modules 102 and 103 in March and June next year.
This qualification is designed to teach learners to communicate withDeaf people in British Sign Language (BSL) on a range of topics that involvesimple, everyday language use.
British Sign Language (BSL) was recognised by the government as alanguage in its own right in March 2003. BSL is the first or preferred languageof an estimated 70,000 Deaf people in the UK. BSL is a visual-gesturallanguage, with its own grammar and principles, which are completely differentfrom the grammatical structure of English.
